Job Description
">The successful candidate will be responsible for cooking food on our kitchen's grill, including grilling meat, sautéing vegetables, and other types of food as needed.
This role requires the ability to work in a team, have exceptional food preparation abilities, and assist the kitchen staff with ingredient preparation.
You will also be expected to inform waitstaff when orders are ready and assist in maintaining inventory.
Responsibilities
- Grill premium steaks, chicken, pork, and seafood with a high degree of skill.
- Assist in maintaining inventory by tracking, labeling, and replacing key ingredients.
- Prepare meats, including cleaning and cutting prime cuts of meat, along with other food prep as needed.
- Communicate with the team and wait staff to ensure the timely delivery of all meals.
- FOLLOW ALL RELEVANT FOOD HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES.
- Maintain a workstation that is both clean and sanitary.
- Communicate with the restaurant manager about any kitchen supplies and upgrades that are needed.
- As a team member, you may have the opportunity to work the whole cook line as well as the expeditor role.
- Arrive to work on time and as scheduled.
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows closing checklist and assists others with closing the kitchen.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous restaurant experience, preferably as a cook or educational background in culinary.
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Strong communication skills.
- Availability to work evening and weekend shifts.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of and willingness to embrace important food health and safety guidelines.
- Willingness to continue learning and improving your craft.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. and stand for 8 hours.
