Job Summary
- This position is responsible for implementing the Early Head Start program, ensuring a safe and supervised educational setting for children, engaging families in the program, and meeting all content area standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Care
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address individualized needs, interests, and schedules of infants and toddlers.
- Provide responsive care for children, responding promptly and positively to their needs.
- Supervise and monitor children at all times, maintaining a safe environment.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and learning materials, adhering to health and safety standards.
Parent Engagement and Communication
- Create an atmosphere that promotes and reinforces parent involvement, encouraging active participation in the classroom and program activities.
- Maintain ongoing professional and appropriate communication with parents through regular updates, meetings, and home visits.
- Work collaboratively with parents to identify and address individual child needs, developing strategies for supporting their development.
Curriculum Development and Implementation
- Assess individual and group needs, attending to special needs, specific interests, strengths, and concerns.
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate, balanced daily plans that address each child's specific strengths and needs.
- Prepare classroom materials and supplies to support daily plans, adapting curriculum as needed to meet individual goals.
Documentation and Service Delivery
- Ensure accurate written records, including assessments, lesson plans, observations, and attendance records.
- Maintain compliance with Early Head Start Performance Standards, SCDHS Licensing Requirements, and other regulations.
- Participate in team/staff meetings to plan for and deliver needed services, promoting collaboration and effective communication.
