Responsibilities
You will determine safety precautions and requirements for tasks, prepare work sites, and use tools safely. You will also gather information, evaluate equipment conditions, and recommend pre-emptive actions. Your key responsibilities include:
- Determines safety precautions and requirements for task.
- Prepares worksite; performs lock-out/tag-out.
- Gathers tools and spare parts for task.
- Uses tools safely; checks condition of tools prior to using; uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Performs tasks as directed by more experienced mechanic, as indicated with work instructions and/or with mentor oversight (if applicable).
Requirements
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of experience in maintenance or a related area. Preferred qualifications include experience working with specialized tools, reading blueprints and schematics, operating various vehicles and equipment, and using hand and power tools.
You must also possess a valid state driver's license and be able to lift up to 70 pounds, wear personal protective equipment, and work in varying environmental conditions.
