What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Coach, Girls Volleyball position at Lowell High School 9-12?
EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree Preferred
Teacher Certification Preferred
(If not certified, must take and pass MIAA Coaches Education Course)
EFFECTIVE: 2025-2026 Fall Sports Season
SALARY: As per contract
REPORTS TO: Head of School/ Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics
EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated success as a volleyball athlete and/or coach.
REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated knowledge of volleyball techniques and aptitude for
the following performance responsibilities:
1. Coaching individual participants in the skills necessary for superior achievement in volleyball.
2. Planning and scheduling a regular program of practice in season.
3. Working closely with the Administrator of Interscholastic/Intramural Athletics in scheduling of interscholastic contests.
4. Recommending purchases of equipment and supplies, if necessary.
5. Maintaining necessary attendance forms.
6. Overseeing the safety conditions whenever students are present.
7. Enforcing disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and establishing a policy for breach of such standards by athletes.
8. Establishing performance criteria for eligible interscholastic competitive events.
9. Working with college officials (Scholarship, student placement)
10. Working with local media.
11. Enforcing and explaining rules and regulations regarding athletics at Lowell High School as stated in the student Handbook and MIAA Blue Book-E.g. (Attendance Eligibility, Chemical Health)
