Job Summary
The Director, Cath Lab is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and management of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, including planning, organizing, and overseeing all administrative, operational, and clinical activities to ensure efficient and effective delivery of quality patient care. This role works closely with hospital leadership and cardiology teams to support excellence in patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement within the Cath Lab department.
Essential Functions
- Oversees the daily operations of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, ensuring patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and efficient workflow.
- Manages staff recruitment, training, and performance, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional growth and high standards of care.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates departmental policies, protocols, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and evidence-based practices.
- Monitors departmental budgets, cost containment, and resource allocation to achieve financial goals while maintaining high-quality patient care.
- Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to enhance service offerings, develop quality improvement initiatives, and optimize patient satisfaction.
- Ensures all equipment and technologies in the Cath Lab are properly maintained, calibrated, and used according to safety standards.
- Analyzes performance metrics and quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Communicates effectively with hospital administration, providing reports on departmental performance, project updates, and resource needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
- Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or similar cardiovascular setting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role required

Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure or equivalent clinical certification required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
- CCVP - Certified Cardiovascular Catheterization Professional preferred
- Health Services\ACLS preferred
