About This Role
Fulfillment Associates play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the store environment is clean, safe, and well-stocked with products customers need. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing friendly and professional interactions with customers and colleagues, responding promptly to their needs.
- Maintaining merchandise quality, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery.
- Pulling and loading merchandise safely onto delivery trucks, as well as assisting customers and staff with moving products safely.
- Preparing orders for pickup, replenishing shelves, and loading merchandise into vehicles to meet customer needs.
To excel in this role, associates must be comfortable engaging in conversations to ensure accurate product delivery. They will inspect and prepare merchandise for delivery or pickup, verify invoices against loaded products, and ensure deliveries are ready upon truck arrival. Additionally, they will assist with loading large appliances.
Safety is paramount, as Fulfillment Associates frequently lift and move merchandise throughout their shift. Those assigned to the Pro Department must obtain certification on forklifts, pallet jacks, and electrical lifts within 30 days of starting.
This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional trips may be necessary for meetings, trainings, or supporting neighboring stores.
Work Schedule and Requirements
- Hourly Full Time or Part Time: Generally scheduled 39-40 hours per week (Full Time) or up to 25 hours per week (Part Time), with additional hours possible based on store needs.
- Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving prolonged standing, sitting, and other essential job duties.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds without assistance, with optional lifting exceeding that weight with or without assistance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic literacy and arithmetic skills.
- 6 months of computer experience, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Able to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 months of retail experience.
- 6 months of customer service or product fulfillment experience in a home improvement or hardware retailer.
- 6 months of experience inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials in/out of vehicles.
