Job Summary :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer Planner to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient procurement and planning of materials necessary for the co-manufacturing and kitting of equipment in the hemp and marijuana industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, time-phased material planning, inventory management policies, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, small business environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Buying :

Place orders and ensure on-time delivery of raw materials, components, finished goods and supplies required for sales and production. Work with sourcing and logistics team to select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery speed.

Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely manufacturing and delivery of products. Analyze sales data to determine production needs. Create supply forecast based on production and supplier lead times.

Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production while minimizing excess stock. Implement strategies to reduce inventory costs. We use Cin7 as our inventory management platform.

Ensure that all procured materials meet quality standards. Address any issues related to supplier quality and delivery.

Continuously analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

Work closely with various departments, including production, sales, and customer service, to align material availability with production schedules and address any changes in demand or production issues.

Track and report key performance metrics, including purchase price variance, inventory levels, and supplier performance.

Qualifications :

3-5 years of experience in a purchasing or planning role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Strong analytical decision-making and ability to make decisions based on data.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP / MRP systems.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities.

Knowledge of the hemp and marijuana industry is a plus.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred is a plus.
