About the Buyer / Planner II position
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Manufacturer and interfacing with the Senior Buyer/Planner, this position plays a key role in driving the procurement of parts and materials for engineering/manufacturing and managing inventory. This person will interface with all team members to coordinate, procure and track supplies and materials.
Job Duties:
- Program Planning
- Tracking Part and Assembly document release in PDXpert for procurement.
- Performing Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) including generation of the requisition worksheet with spares.
- Management and tracking of the procurement and kitting process for multiple programs.
- Management of productions orders and issuing of productions orders to the floor.
- Management of program and asset inventories.
Purchasing Duties
- Quoting of purchase requests with multiple vendors as required.
- Creation, fulfillment, and management of purchase orders in the ERP system.
- Identification and qualification of new vendors.
- Management of the approved vendor list in coordination with the Manufacturing Manager.
- Tracking of program material costs to the program budget and identifying discrepancies.
- Vendor management for non-conforming items.
- Facility vendor management
Inventory Duties
- Assisting with Receiving
- Assisting with Kitting
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience in aerospace procurement or production planning is preferred
- 2-year degree in related field and/or relevant, equivalent work experience is preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of how flight, non-flight, materials and coated materials are processed.
- Basic knowledge of common engineering materials and material surface treatments.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Effectively negotiate and communicate cross-functionally across the organization, coordinating with various functions to meet objectives.
