Executive Level Personal Injury Legal Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. This role requires someone who can seamlessly manage office correspondence, including phone calls, emails, scheduling, and maintaining deadlines. You will also be responsible for ordering and managing medical and billing records, electronically submitting paperwork in state and federal courts, and assisting with legal research as needed.

Our personal injury practice is robust and fast-paced, so the ideal candidate will be able to consistently deliver high-quality work while thriving in an autonomous environment. Prior experience in a personal injury law firm is essential. We are looking for an expert in the field, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and skill level.

Personal Injury Legal Assistant Responsibilities :

  • Manage office correspondence, including responding to emails, answering phone calls, and informing the legal team of critical deadlines.
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and consultations with expert witnesses, clients, medical professionals, and vendors.
  • Order and organize medical and billing records, and handle electronic filings in both state and federal courts.
  • Assist in the preparation of litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs, with a keen eye for detail in proofreading.
  • Process client billing efficiently by utilizing daily time records, in coordination with the accounting department.
  • Conduct legal research as requested by attorneys and paralegals, with a strong understanding of medical terminology.

Personal Injury Legal Assistant Qualifications :

  • An associate’s degree or certification in a related field is preferred, but substantial experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a personal injury law firm is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in legal software, case management, and docketing programs is required.
  • Strong skills in MS Office products are essential.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  • A positive, can-do attitude to align with and contribute to our office culture.
  • If your compensation planning software is too rigid to deploy winning incentive strategies, it’s time to find an adaptable solution. Compensation Planning
