Position Overview
The Technology Director at Loyola Catholic School is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all technology systems and initiatives within the school. The Technology Director oversees infrastructure, instructional technology, cybersecurity, and support services to enhance learning, streamline operations, and ensure the security and efficiency of all technological resources. The ideal candidate will be committed to advancing the school’s mission through innovative technology solutions while ensuring all technology programs and processes align with Loyola’s mission and values.
Technology Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive technology plan aligned with the school’s mission and strategic goals.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures related to technology usage, security, and data privacy.
- Act as a liaison between faculty, staff, administration, and external technology vendors.
- Serve as an ex-officio member of the safety committee and facilities committee.
- Establish a professional network by regularly attending networking meetings through the South Central Service Cooperative.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Oversee the school’s network infrastructure, including fiber optic service, firewall, switches, wireless access points, internet/wi-fi functioning, security systems, servers, hardware, and software to ensure seamless operation.
- Manage cloud-based applications, including email systems, learning management systems, and student information systems.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect school data and comply with best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently to minimize disruption to teaching and learning.
Instructional Technology Support
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum effectively.
- Provide training and professional development to faculty and staff on technology tools and best practices.
- Support students and faculty in utilizing classroom technology, including interactive displays, 1:1 devices, and educational software.
Operational & Budgetary Oversight
- Manage the technology budget, ensuring responsible allocation of resources.
- Oversee the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of hardware (copier/printer maintenance, phones, access for staff and students, laptop/desktop computers, projectors, video, bell system, audio, other technology devices) using a 3-5 year plan.
- Laptop distribution, collection and maintenance for 1-to-1 program 7-12
- Laptop carts and iPads K-5, Chromebooks 6-8, and MacBook Air 9-12
- MacBook Air and/or iPad for faculty and staff
- Assign staff access to student information and database systems
- Management Server configuration, maintenance and backups
- Printers/copiers
- Telecommunications systems
- Audio and video equipment
- Public Address system
- Access control, video surveillance, and guest management
- Oversee the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of software (Google, FACTS SIS, NWEA, etc.) using a 3-5 year plan.
- Assist and coordination of GPA, Report Cards, scheduling, posting of weekly grades

- Manage IT-related contracts, licensing, and vendor relationships.
- Oversee E-Rate program for school and as part of the regional consortium.
Technical Support & User Assistance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all technology-related issues within the school.
- Provide hands-on technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking and resolving technology support requests.
- Provide support for academics and activities.
- Roster management for supported applications
- Assist administrators with academic records processing
- Assist with management and administration of standardized/benchmark testing
- Instructional technology incorporation and use
- Facilitate broadcast of school events
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience (Minimum required)
- B.S. Degree in computer science, education, or other relevant field.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience preferred, preferably in an educational setting.
- Proficiency in managing networks, databases, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of instructional technology tools, Google Workspace for Education, and learning management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a solo department role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support faculty, staff, and students.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
