LMU Loyola Law School seeks a dynamic individual to serve as the Director of the Field Placement Department. The LMU Loyola Law School Field Placement Program provides students experiential learning opportunities in judicial chambers, public interest organizations, government agencies, corporate legal departments, and private firms. The Director plays a key role in preparing students for the evolving demands of legal practice, fostering relationships with placement supervisors, and ensuring compliance with ABA standards. The Director of the Field Placement Department will be an Associate Clinical Professor and will serve in a full-time position combining teaching, management, and administrative leadership of the field placement program that operates 12-months a year.
Teaching and Pedagogical Leadership
- Teach and manage field placement courses during the academic year, including summer sessions, covering topics such as professional identity, networking, time management, and implicit bias.
- In addition to overseeing and teaching field placement courses, teach 6 units during the academic year of other courses as coordinated with the LMU Loyola School Associate Dean for Faculty and the Associate Dean for Clinical Programs and Experiential Learning.
- Design and deliver field placement curriculum for orientation programs and seminars focused on subjects related to field placements, such as professionalism, and ethics
- Develop and implement new course offerings, such as advanced field placement courses, focusing on professional identity, well-being, and career planning.
- Train and support adjunct faculty and field supervisors to enhance experiential pedagogy and ensure program quality.
- Assess and monitor student work in field placements, including hour logs, reflections, and other assignments, to provide meaningful feedback and ensure compliance with program requirements.

The hiring salary range is $125,000-148,000. Salary is commensurate with experience.
