The Nursing Supervisor collaborates with unit leadership to ensure adequate staffing and serves as a resource for nursing staff. They maintain continued competence in professional nursing practices, demonstrating flexibility in response to hospital needs.
They work closely with unit leaders to ensure proper staffing during assigned shifts. As a liaison between nursing and other departments, they provide consultation on administrative issues and facilitate communication between teams.
The Nursing Supervisor evaluates nursing care activities throughout the shift, resolving complexities related to bed allocation. They confer with hospital administrators, staff, and physicians as needed to address patient, family, or community concerns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of previous job-related experience, with 6-10 years preferred.
- Minimum of three years of hospital nursing experience.
- Managerial experience: 1-2 years.
- Charge nurse or nursing supervisor experience.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Current Registered Nurse License, State of Illinois.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Additional certifications: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training highly desirable.

Compensation:
Pay range: $35.89 - $62.91.
