What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Indoor and Beach Volleyball Coach position at Loyola University - New Orleans?
This role will be responsible for providing coaching expertise for the women’s intercollegiate indoor and beach volleyball programs and will provide a superior level of leadership, organization and supervision for all practices and contests. The incumbent will also assist in the organization and implementation of a recruiting program to attract outstanding student-athletes to attend Loyola University. This is a 12 month position.
Additional Responsibilities: Assume the duties of the university Campus Security Authority (CSA), including but not limited to, reporting crimes as defined through the Cleary Act and providing annual reporting statistics.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Assistant Women’s Indoor and Beach Volleyball Coach must be able to raise and lower volleyball nets, assist in setting up bleachers, scorer’s tables and player seating for intercollegiate contests and drive and transport athletes if needed.

- Provide leadership, organization, and supervision for all practices and contests
- Implement and maintain standards of performance consistent with the University’s goals of academic and athletic performance
- Organize and implement a recruiting program to attract outstanding student-athletes to attend Loyola University
- Coordinate facilities scheduling
- Conduct the program within the rules and regulations of NAIA, Southern States Athletic Conference, Sun Conference and the University
- Attend and participate in department staff meetings
- Manage the program within the parameters of an approved budget
- Coordinate game management with the Associate Athletic Director for respective athletic events
- Coordinate with the Head Women’s Indoor and Beach Volleyball Coach

- Baccalaureate degree required, master’s preferred
- Thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the conduct of intercollegiate athletics; Knowledge of the NAIA rules to include eligibility is preferred
- Ability to work effectively with college student athletes, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the community
- Considerable administrative and supervisory experience
- Experience with word processing and personal computers is preferred
- Must possess and maintain a current valid driver’s license as a condition of employment, and must also be able to successfully pass any driver background information investigation and any driver education courses required by Risk Management.
- A philosophy of intercollegiate athletics that places the highest emphasis on the pre-eminence of the academic mission of the institution and role of athletics as part of the student total personal system of ethical values which will be used as the basis for supervising and developing the intercollegiate program
- Beliefs basically supportive of the principles of Catholic, Jesuit higher education and the specified goals of the University.
- Successful high school and/or college coaching experience and intercollegiate running experience preferred.
