Job Purpose
To provide general relief in support of line positions, under daily direction.
In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Provide general relief in support of line positions during breaks as assigned.
- Assist in maintaining housekeeping in any area of the facility directed by the shift supervisor
- Clean and maintain housekeeping for sawline – minimum two times per shift
- Clean and maintain housekeeping for press pit (night shift)
- Assist in areas of regrading, paint booth, strapper, and sawline as directed by shift supervisor
- Use mobile equipment, power and hand tools to process waste and reclaim material (reclaim bark for bark burner, reclaim processed wood from dryer area)
- Inspects equipment on a daily basis to ensure proper and continuous operations
- Break out sawline, strapper, and forklift driver as needed
- Cross-train in other position throughout the mill to cover operational requirements
- Assist with tasks to reduce unscheduled downtime (clearing airlocks. Cleaning woodburner)
- Basic or light preventative maintenance duties
- Assist with special projects
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Time management skills.
- Knowledge of line position duties and functions.
- Knowledge of general plant clean-up and utility functions.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
