What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at LPAS Architecture + Design?
LPAS Architecture Design, is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary Architectural and Interior Design firm. For over 45 years, we have focused on how buildings affect people’s lives, and we are looking for a motivated and talented Bookkeeper to join our accounting team in our Sacramento office.
This position will help ensure that the Company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. You will maintain vendor records, insurance certificates, review employee timesheets, and process employee expenses. You will also be utilizing Ajera accounting software to run reports and process transactions, such as AP/AR, disbursements, and 1099s.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Process consultant and vendor invoices, verify compliance with organizational polices and contract payment terms
- Code expenses, verify, and pay invoices; receives and posts receipts; reconciles balances and maintains records within financial systems and other repositories
- Assist with new project set-up
- Order certificates of insurance
- Takes appropriate action with delinquent accounts, and researches and resolves concerns or discrepancies
- Process accounts payable and expense reports accurately and promptly
- Manage the employee timekeeping compliance and review process
- Support Assistant Controller, Controller, and HR Director with additional accounting responsibilities, as needed
Candidates must have:
- Verifiable bookkeeping and/or administrative skills/education
- Experience with accrual accounting concepts, whether in practice, or in an academic setting.
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and Office365 Suite is required.
- Familiarity with payroll platforms such as ADP or Paychex, as well as basic knowledge of CA wage & hour laws.

The salary range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 per hour. If you are hired, your base salary is based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
