Technical Sales Representative – Laser Plastic Welding
LPKF Laser & Electronics North America is looking for a motivated and talented Technical Sales Representative to join our growing team. This position will handle the laser plastic welding business for precision assembly of automotive, medical and consumer devices for our customer base throughout North America.
The Technical Sales Representative is an integral part of a diverse international team and will be interacting with sales executives as well as technical engineering staff.
Your primary responsibility is to generate and cultivate business opportunities in collaboration with marketing and sales. This position requires market research and account qualification and lead development through outbound phone calling, creative email communication, technology presentations both online and in person to identify, qualify and cultivate new opportunities. In addition, this position will also closely collaborate with our prospects and key customers to identify and assess their new applications and technical requirements. This includes material testing and discussing design improvements with our customers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Research accounts, identify key players, present solutions, and develop accounts to stimulate and generate sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with our customers and prospects to assess specific product applications.
- Test customer materials and collaborate with our worldwide applications team.
- Develop a close relationship with key customers to implement their technical requirements.
- Track all relevant qualification and lead management activity in the CRM system.
We are looking for a highly self-motivated, fast-learning individual with exceptional communication skills, and a positive and energetic presence who is not intimidated by technology and who feels comfortable both in a sales role and a technical consulting role.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, but not required for those with a technical aptitude and equivalent work experience.
- Experience in industrial automation, CAD software or mechanical engineering is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: Base salary plus commission; determined on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
