Job Overview:
The Associate Vice President will be responsible for architecting and implementing new data products/services and tools as well as ensuring that existing products continue to scale and improve performance. This person will lead cross-functional teams through the entire software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, release management, and post-production support. They will also help drive the strategic direction of data at LPL by providing thought leadership around future technologies, products, and capabilities needed to deliver differentiated value to advisors and their clients.
Responsibilities:
Lead architecture efforts across multiple projects within the organization
Collaborate closely with product managers and developers to understand requirements and translate into technical designs
Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security best practices, and industry regulations
Manage dependencies between various engineering disciplines such as front end, back end, database, dev ops, etc.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams during all phases of SDLC
Work directly with senior executives to ensure delivery against key initiatives
Provide thought leadership and strategic vision to the team
Help create and maintain documentation related to architecture decisions, system design, and best practices
Stay current on emerging trends and advancements in cloud computing, distributed systems, big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other relevant technologies

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
6 years of relevant experience required
Proven track record of success leading complex multi-team software development projects
Strong understanding of distributed systems, databases, networking, and operating systems
Preferences:
Experience working with large scale data processing pipelines
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
