We’re Hiring! LRE Water is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to join our dynamic team at our Denver Headquarters. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the financial health and success of our projects by managing budgets, tracking expenses, and analyzing financial performance. As a key collaborator between project managers and the finance team, you’ll ensure accurate reporting, compliance with financial standards, and timely delivery of project deliverables. Responsibilities

  • Review project contracts to understand financial obligations and ensuring compliance with contractual terms
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project data in accounting systems
  • Support proposal and cost-estimating activities
  • Support project managers and accounting team with project management schedules
  • Work with project managers to provide timely project performance data
  • Proactively escalate issues that require immediate attention
  • Update and maintain the project database and generate standard and special reports for project managers and senior management
  • Perform a variety of tasks in support of contracts, clients, project managers, and others
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, but not a requirement
  • 2 years experience in a prior Project Accountant or Cost Accountant role
  • Prior experience with analysis of project costs and budgets
  • Understanding of Revenue Recognition Rules
  • Team player, good work ethic, and self-initiation
  • Excellent organization, time management, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (in particular, strong Excel and Word skills)
  • Strong task ownership, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Strong initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Desire to learn new skills and grow professionally
  • Project accounting software experience (e.g., Deltek VantagePoint, Deltek Vision, Jamis, Sage) is a plus

Total Compensation:

The starting salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000/annually depending upon years of experience and education. Pay is negotiable for a higher level of experience. LRE Water reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range depending on experience. LRE Water also distributes bonuses and 401(k) contributions based on annual company profitability. Employer paid benefits increase total compensation by approximately 20%. Additionally, LRE Water supports training and professional development activities for all staff and offers discretionary bonus opportunities as recognition for performance, earning a professional credential, speaking engagements or publication.

Flexible/Hybrid Work Options:

LRE Water offers a hybrid work environment that promotes flexibility for our employees and encourages work/life balance. This role will be based out of the Denver, Colorado office with the flexibility to work 1 to 3 days/week remotely. Field work may require travel, long field days, weekend work, and night work that will occasionally result in weeks with more than 40-hours of work. Mileage, expenses, and/or per diem paid for work travel.

Travel Requirements

Although rare, some travel opportunities may be available to visit satellite offices across the United States.
