We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to join our Charlotte office. Other LS3P office locations will be considered as well. You are passionate and devoted to quality. You possess the organizational skills to prioritize tasks and handle multiple deadlines, a thorough knowledge of accounting and finance, and a demonstrated ability to foster and nurture relationships. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the office, working closely with leaders, project teams, and stakeholders to bring visionary architectural concepts to life.
A Day in the Life:
- Work side by side in a team environment with our Design Leaders, Project Managers, Architects, Interior Designers, Urban Planners and Emerging Professionals to support active production projects
- Develop new skills and participate in meaningful collaboration
- Prepare draft/final invoices for all billable projects in accordance with project specific billing requirements
- Perform actual to budget variance analysis for projects and design team in addressing project issues
- Monitor project plans to ensure they are being updated on a regular basis
- Participate in community service and outreach occasions supporting local and national organizations
Your Strengths as a Project Accountant:
- Understanding of standard contract terms and how they are applied in the billing process
- Ability to provide data-driven forecasting using resource planning software
- Ability to prioritize and organize workflows
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Ability to set up new projects and related fees and budgets
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and writing.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines and work independently.
- Strong sense of ownership, ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
What You Bring To The Table:
- Deltek Vantagepoint Experience preferred
- Deltek Vision experience a strong plus
- 3 years of accounting experience preferred in an architecture, construction, or engineering firm
- Bachelor's degree or extensive work-related experience in business, accounting, or related field
- Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, and PowerBI
- Experience in project billing and costing is preferred
- Experience with project accounting preferred
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
- Able to work overtime, weekends, and travel if needed
