Location: ON-SITE at Building 139 - JFK Airport, Jamaica, NY 11430
LSG Sky Chefs is looking for a responsible and experienced Dispatcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching transportation services, ensuring on-time delivery of products and services to our customers. The Dispatcher will work closely with our operations team, customer service representatives, drivers, and other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and dispatch transportation services to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Schedule and assign drivers and equipment to routes based on customer needs and product availability.
- Communicate with drivers, customer service representatives, and other departments to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor delivery progress and make necessary adjustments to routes and schedules as needed.
- Manage and maintain transportation records, including driver logs, fuel usage, and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to transportation and logistics.
- Maintain effective communication with customers to provide accurate and timely updates on delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Provide guidance and support to drivers, including route planning, directions, and customer service issues.
- Identify and address any issues or problems that may impact the delivery of products and services.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatching required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and requirements preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
