The Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures a safe, organized, efficient and productive operation in the areas of the facility and Customer Service Center (CSC) in accordance with LSG Sky Chefs and local regulations. The individual is responsible for ensuring all repairs and preventative maintenance tasks and work orders are completed according to the manufacturer's specifications and/or company’s guidelines. Job Requirements / Responsibilities This role is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks; performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g.
carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc.) Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre‐established check sheet. Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools. This role is additionally responsible for addressing and resolving maintenance issues that occur in daily operations in the office area and the (CSC).
All tasks are to be completed in a timely manner in order to minimize the impact to operations. He/she will ensure proper functioning and will conduct routine preventative maintenance throughout the facility. Additionally, he/she performs other work related duties as assigned. Must be able to work flexible hours.

- The purpose of this position is to ensure that the day to day maintenance of the plant’s building structure and electromechanical systems run smoothly and efficiently. • Diagnoses and troubleshoots repairs of critical equipment including electrical distribution and controls, circuit breakers, automatic transfer switches, generators, automation controls and HVAC equipment using a variety of specialized hand and power tools. • The assignments may include automatic retrieval system, dock equipment, general building maintenance, light carpentry, painting, repair of minor electrical devices, light plumbing or HVAC, and other upkeep and repair on building. • Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building structures and systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, painting and carpentry to detect malfunctions and prevent deterioration.
- Ensures that proper testing has been completed before returning systems or equipment to production. • Maintains a clean, clutter free work area. • Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems. • Keeps kitchen and building equipment operational, systems and building ready for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; maintaining maintenance records; following policies and procedures; completing repairs and installing replacement parts; reporting needed changes.
- Completes special requests by hauling files and boxes; moving furniture; setting up furnishings; preparing rooms for meetings; assembling public announcement and audio visual equipment; following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines; completing repairs and installing replacement parts. • Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. • Conduct and document regular facilities inspections (daily, weekly, monthly). • Inspection, repairs, and maintenance for a variety of equipment including: air conditioning, electric motors, pumps, air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, hot water boilers, intake and exhaust fans, and other process equipment.
- Able to deal with difficult situations, resolve issues and concerns in a professional manner Work and accomplish tasks in a stressful, fast-paced environment. • HS Diploma or GED preferred, ability to follow and read routine verbal and written English instructions required. • Willing to perform all tasks when and where assigned and as changing situations arises. • Maintain professional and positive attitude and work ethic.
- Must follow all LSG Sky Chefs’ GMP’s and work consistent with all food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements. • Knowledge of basic electricity and control systems • Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematic • Lift up to 75 Lbs., Push/Pull up To 75 Lbs. • Must be capable of standing, walking, bending, stooping kneeling, climbing ladders for an extended period of time • Ability to follow directions and being careful about detail • Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision • Must be team player and self-motivated • Ability to perform basic math skills. • Knowledge of maintenance and care of culinary facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials.
