Position Summary
The Parts Room/Warehouse Lead oversees inventory control of aircraft parts, aeronautical tools, and equipment while supervising parts room or warehouse staff. This position ensures efficient operations, compliance with policies, and accurate tracking of materials using the AMU computerized database.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Receive, store, issue, and track materials and tools.
- Ensure accurate digital tracking using barcodes and the AMU database.
- Identify and manage obsolete or Beyond Economical Repair (BER) inventory.
- Direct and guide warehouse and parts room staff.
- Train employees in equipment use and safety protocols.
- Issue parts and tools to mechanics and maintain sign-out logs.
- Inspect received parts for quality and compliance documentation.
- Package, tag, and prepare materials for shipment.
- Oversee unloading and inspection of deliveries for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure parts rooms and warehouse areas are orderly and stocked.
- Maintain compliance with CAL FIRE policies and safety standards.
- Verify and input accurate data into the AMU logistical database.
- Adhere to security protocols and CAL FIRE’s IT policies.
- Maintain government property and secure facilities.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Three years of experience in stock handling, inventory, and shipping/receiving.
- One year of experience in aviation warehouse operations and logistical database systems.
- Forklift operation certification and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of CAL FIRE Repair Station/Quality Control Manual policies.
- This role requires adherence to CAL FIRE-approved work attire, use of PPE, and compliance with established safety protocols.
- Starting compensation at $26 per hour, commensurate with experience.
