Description:
The Material Specialist will assist in coordinating all in-bound and out-bound materials. The position assists training Operators for career progressions and new hire. The position helps to maintain Department documents. Assists with the day-to-day operations of the Shipping & Receiving department. The role is not limited to the above-mentioned responsibilities and may include other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position.
Responsibilities:
- Communicates and coordinates with dispatch/logistics groups for deliveries
- Process sales orders and STOs to create BOL’s for drivers
- Assist with investigating and rectifying any inventory or database discrepancies or variances
- Receives materials into SAP and performs a goods receipt, reviewing and verifying quantities received against BOL’s or packing lists, scale tickets and shipping documents
- Consolidate materials within SAP according to transactions completed by Production
- Facilitates the distribution of incoming supplies and equipment to the appropriate party
- Stay current on DOT regulations and LSPI training requirements
- Prepare and ship packages via FedEx, UPS or other carriers
- Prepare generic BOL’s for equipment movements
Required Experience, Skills and Competencies:
- One year’s experience in Shipping & Receiving
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
- Ability to work in both a team environment and independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
- DOT certified
- Forklift certified
- Knowledge of OSHA standards
- One year of SAP experience including Goods Receipts, Goods issues, Transfer Posting & BOL’s
