Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director, Key Account Management to manage select accounts (primarily US-based, with potential global responsibilities) and serve as the key face to the customer. This critical role will focus on managing existing core business within key accounts, generating new business opportunities, and leading account-specific expert teams.
- This is a fully remote role. The location preference would be Midwest or East Coast locations due to dealing with Central European Time Zones.
- Travel to MN & NJ locations required.
What You Will Do:
- Provide strategic and tactical direction for all client-facing commercial and operational issues, acting as the primary point of contact and managing internal/external communication.
- Make account-specific decisions (including pricing), aligned with VP Sales & BD North America and CEO North America, coordinating with internal experts and stakeholders.
- Coordinate internal account activities, ensuring timely and effective solutions for customers, while anticipating their evolving needs.
- Lead cross-functional account teams, developing and executing strategic account plans.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, expanding your network to identify new business opportunities.
- Achieve account-specific sales and profit objectives.
- Contribute to strategic market teams and support commercial excellence initiatives.
- Proactively monitor product performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop quarterly, annual, and long-term sales plans, including monthly forecasting.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on account status and sales performance.
- Manage complex pricing structures and contract negotiations, ensuring compliance and maximizing profitability.
- Analyze market trends and client needs to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, conducting market research and needs assessments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred in Science and/or Business.
- 10-14 years of experience in pharmaceutical, procurement, and business development.
- Experience in CDMO is a huge plus!
- Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong team player with excellent conflict resolution, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical competitive and regulatory environment.
- Extensive soft skills (communication, group dynamics, mediation, conflict management).
Preferred Experience:
- Pricing Strategy Development & Contract Negotiation: Ability to develop competitive pricing, lead contract negotiations, ensure compliance, and manage contract lifecycles.
- Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Proven ability to analyze market trends, assess client needs, identify growth opportunities, and provide strategic recommendations.
