EHS - Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator
Jacksonville, Texas.
EHS Coordinator in a Manufacturing industry. Responsible for leading all environmental, safety and health related activities to ensure compliance to all laws and regulations in the workplace.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety is required
- Bachelor degree in Occupational Health & Safety is preferred
- ASP or CSP preferred
- 1 - 4 years of Safety experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in Health and Safety laws and regulations is required
- Experience in Environmental is preferred
- Must maintain necessary certifications and training as deemed necessary to remain current with all regulations – company provided
- Technical writing a plus
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Create and update safety related documents and Matrixes using Microsoft Office Suites
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well
- Bilingual is a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop/update/review/oversee implementation of company EHS programs to maintain compliance to all regulations
- Coordinate training of all employees on any specialized training (First Aid, CPR, AED, BBP, etc.), including new hire orientation, HSE requirements to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
- Manage company Workers’ Comp claims
- Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Utilize Stop Work Authority for IDLH conditions
- Collaborate with fellow management to ensure EHS regulatory compliance
- Conduct EHS assessments with applicable staff
- Conduct facility compliance audits, inspections, and walkthroughs
- Select/Procure/Manage EHS vendor services
- EHS recordkeeping, document retention and metrics tracking
- Communicating company EHS needs/performance with all levels of leadership
- Company representative regarding OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, etc. interactions
- Schedule/lead/Coordinate safety meetings with staff
- Track leading/lagging indicators to develop/recommend company EHS improvements
- Provide first aid care/manage medical emergency situations
- Influence proactive safety culture with staff
- Track/Report environmental aspects of companies (VOC air emissions calculations, waste (AWS), SWPPP)
- Manage industrial hygiene needs of companies, Tier II, and TRI reporting as applicable
- Manage company HAZCOM and HAZWOPER elements as needed
- Coordinate training and activities of Safety Committee
- Other duties as required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be required to stand, bend, squat, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see. On occasion, may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
