What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Coordinator position at West Fraser?
Reporting to the EHS Supervisor, this position will work with the West Fraser Project team members to develop a world-class Safety culture and eliminate workplace injuries on the project/construction site in Henderson, TX.
What you will do:
- Provide ongoing support to our project leadership team in the identification of workplace hazards, reporting and investigation of incidents, and the development of a comprehensive safety program
- Leading the project contractor program on a construction site
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and West Fraser Standards
- Measure progress toward meeting our contractor safety targets and objectives
- Timely reporting and recordkeeping for project contractors
- Assist in providing triage and first aid in the event of injury to a contractor
- Host regular contractor safety meetings with all on-site project contractors
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the EHS Supervisor
Minimum qualifications you will need:
- Minimum 2-3 years safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point)
- Solid understanding of facilitating a successful safety program
- Ability to educate and train team members
- Must be proactive, enthusiastic, and demonstrate effective leadership skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong teams
- Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
