We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives within our oil and gas production operations. This role ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local environmental regulations while implementing best practices to minimize environmental impact. The ideal candidate will have strong regulatory knowledge, leadership skills, and experience managing environmental programs in the energy sector.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws, including EPA, OSHA, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee environmental permitting, inspections, and audits.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports, water discharge, and waste management documentation.
- Develop, implement, and manage Define and implement HSE policies aligned with current standards and regulations
- Lead risk assessments and ensure proactive mitigation strategies.
- Organize and provide training and guidance to employees on HSE compliance and best practices.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and environmental spills, providing root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
- Oversee the implementation of behavior-based safety programs.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
- Act as a liaison between management, employees, and regulatory agencies regarding safety concerns.
- Foster a culture of environmental stewardship and continuous improvement.
- Monitoring and Continuous Improvement: Periodically assess HSE performance and propose improvement actions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field.
- 10 years experience in environmental management experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and industry best practices.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), EMIS Systems
- Skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid Driver’s license required.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with air emissions reporting, spill response, and waste management.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CHMM, REM, or similar).
- Experience with regulations in Texas and Louisiana.
