We’re on the lookout for a Payroll & HR Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key player, you’ll engage with a diverse range of clients, applying your expertise to ensure smooth and compliant payroll processing. You’ll also support our internal team, help us continually improve our processes, and bring your energy and passion for client service to the forefront.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the Payroll Process: Manage end-to-end payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Client Relations: Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies, acting as a trusted advisor to your clients. Own the tasks of onboarding new clients for our payroll services.
- Onboarding & Offboarding Support: Assist with employee onboarding/offboarding processes within payroll software.
- Regular Compliance & Audits: Submit I-9s and E-verify cases, confirm benefits updates, manage deductions, and handle payroll tax notices.
- Annual Reviews & Audits: Perform annual reviews of client payroll accounts, ensuring tax filings are accurate and in compliance with agencies. Conduct requested audits (401k, Worker’s Compensation, DOL, etc.).
- Stay Current: Keep up to date on the latest laws and regulations related to payroll and HR, ensuring your clients stay ahead of the curve.
- Special Projects: Support special tasks and projects, including client meetings and calls.
- Build Relationships: Foster strong relationships, not only with our clients but also with the LUCA team. We’re a group of passionate, driven individuals who love working together!
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 2 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing. HR experience is a bonus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Management, or HR Management.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of payroll and HR compliance laws. Understanding of filing requirements for local, state, and federal agencies.
- Client-Focused: Confidence in communicating with clients on various payroll/HR matters with professionalism and clarity.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a love for accuracy.
- Time Management: Strong multitasking abilities with the capacity to meet and exceed deadlines.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP, PHR, or CPP certification is a plus.
- Tech-Savvy: Experience with Gusto is a plus!
