We are currently seeking a Test Engineer within the Efficiency, Performance and Systems group at Lucid Motors. As an engineer in the Efficiency, Performance and Systems group, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and improve sources of vehicle efficiencies. Additionally, you will gain exposure to vehicle development, benchmarking and vehicle-level testing on a chassis dynamometer. This includes instrumenting vehicles, utilizing various data acquisition systems and contributing to efforts aimed at optimizing energy consumption. We are currently seeking a Test Engineer within the Efficiency, Performance and Systems group at Lucid Motors. As an engineer in the Efficiency, Performance and Systems group, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and improve sources of vehicle efficiencies. The Role
- Work efficiently within a multidisciplinary cooperative and innovative environment, including directly cooperating with powertrain, software, and testing teams
- Collaborate with simulation and functional teams to validate performance of components, of subsystems, as well as of the complete vehicle
- Be responsible to instrument vehicles with the necessary sensors for data collection and analysis
- Assist in troubleshooting vehicle issues and prototype vehicle diagnostics
- Be responsible for retrieving, storing and sharing of logged data from tests with different teams
- Schedule test tracks and work with external dynamometers, and prioritize use of resources to meet tight, changing deadlines
- Work with the homologation team to understand the requirements of the tests used in official test procedures
- Run vehicle development and certification range testing for various regions using chassis dynamometer
- Participate in design reviews, provide input and engineering analysis to development teams
- Conduct benchmarking with competitive vehicles
- Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical environments.
- Passion for hands-on automotive engineering and testing.
- Knowledge of range testing procedures, of coast-down testing as well as of dynamometer testing.
- A proven track record of technical excellence.
- A capability to define appropriate targets using a range of strategies.
- Experience in troubleshooting vehicle issues.
- Working knowledge of vehicle communication network systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.)
- Ability to instrument a vehicle and operate data acquisition systems (HBM, Hioki, Vector, etc.) for data collection.
- Ability to interpret regulations and test procedures in collaboration with homologation team.
- Experience in automotive thermal controls.
- Experience in electric vehicle powertrains.
- Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
- Some knowledge of SAE J1634/2264 regulations is a plus.
- Hands-on driving/operating experience with chassis dynamometers is a plus.
- BS in an engineering discipline.
