Job Description:
A public sector client of ours in Austin, Texas is looking for a Project Manager for a 2-year contract opportunity that is likely to extend. This role will be onsite in their Austin office.
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to oversee and deliver complex, large-scale technology projects. This role includes facilitating business analysis efforts, documenting business processes, recommending improvement strategies, and developing both functional and technical requirements documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of large technology-related projects, ensuring alignment with agency goals
Ensure project tasks meet functional, technical, security, and contractual standards
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating within a matrixed organization
Supervise project staff, establish deliverable expectations, and manage acceptance processes
Maintain oversight of deliverable quality and alignment to content requirements
Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, work plans, resource allocation, and cost projections
Resolve work product quality challenges, ensuring adherence to project standards
Communicate with stakeholders, management, and external parties effectively
Evaluate third-party vendor and contractor performance
Document and manage detailed system and functional requirements

Required Experience:
8 Years Full-time experience in project management, managing large, complex projects through all development phases
8 Years Experience with structured design/development processes, scope control, estimation, risk mitigation, and corrective actions
8 Years Experience managing project activities, goal setting, critical decision-making, and planning to resolve complex issues
8 Years Experience analyzing business systems and assessing user/stakeholder needs
8 Years Experience with business process mapping, reengineering, and identifying technology solutions for improved effectiveness
8 Years Experience documenting detailed IT requirements aligned to user and program needs
8 Years Experience working with a Texas state agency in a Project Manager role (contractor or employee)
5 Years Experience writing solicitation documents such as RFIs, RFOs, and SOWs
5 Years Experience collecting requirements from geographically dispersed and multi-program stakeholders
5 Years Experience working with Texas DIR and Data Center Services (DCS), including cloud solution implementation
5 Years Experience using the Texas Project Delivery Framework methodology
1 Year of Salesforce experience
