Summary: As a Mining Engineer II you will leverage engineering expertise and strategic organizational insights to evaluate and drive high-impact projects focused on defining, managing, and extracting reserves. Consistently demonstrate leadership and mentorship within the Mining Engineering Team, shaping the future of mining through innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Lead Strategic Growth Initiatives (10%)
- Champion high-impact strategic projects that shape our company’s future.
- Ensure operational and financial targets are met, aligning with customer needs.
- Inspire and mentor the Mining Engineering Team, representing the Business Development Group on key corporate initiatives.
Champion Safety & Compliance (20%)
- Develop and deliver essential highwall and pit safety training sessions.
- Proactively identify safety risks and craft practical, effective solutions.
- Design pits prioritizing personnel safety and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies.
- Lead by example in all aspects of personal and operational safety.
Drive Reserve Growth & Expansion (30%)
- Spearhead investigations into existing operations, new acquisitions, and greenfield projects.
- Calculate and assess reserves, ensuring optimal spoil balance and fill placement.
- Lead collaborative projects focused on reserve growth and support public permitting processes that secure our long-term expansion goals.
Optimize Operations & Efficiency (40%)
- Provide expert technical support for plant and pit operations.
- Oversee blasting compliance, high wall conditions, and production efficiencies.
- Guide long-range pit development and contribute to capital budget planning, ensuring operational success and sustainability.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in Mining Engineering, including direct operational support. Rock Mechanics/Slope stability experience a plus
- Previous Project Management experience
- Familiarity with GIS and Mining software
- Knowledge Around Industry Regulations: Environmental, Mining, State, MSHA
