We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of animals in our care while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by regularly cleaning cages, kennels, and common areas.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during veterinary procedures as needed.
- Ensure all animals are safely handled and transported within the facility.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being.
- Assist in administering medications as directed by veterinary staff.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving animals or supplies as required.
Qualifications
- Experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred; previous work as a Veterinary Technician or in a kennel environment is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and basic veterinary care is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with animal care.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques is an advantage.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
