Overview

Midwest Real Estate is seeking an Electrician to join our maintenance team. This role focuses primarily on installing new electrical infrastructure (power and data) for gaming room renovations. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical installations, working within tight deadlines, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards for gaming facilities.

Key Responsibilities :

Electrical Installations : Install new electrical outlets, CAT6 data drops, and wiring infrastructure for gaming room renovations.
Data and Power Setup : Ensure proper installation of data cabling, power outlets, and circuits for gaming machines, point-of-sale systems, and other gaming-related equipment.
Renovation Support : Work with the project management and maintenance teams to support renovations and upgrades of gaming areas, ensuring that all electrical components are installed to code and meet operational needs.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance : Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues related to installations, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth operation of the gaming machines.
Safety Compliance : Adhere to all relevant local, state, and federal electrical safety codes, including Illinois Gaming Board regulations, to ensure all installations are safe and compliant.
Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of electrical work completed, including installation details, system specifications, and inventory of materials used.
Collaboration : Work closely with construction and maintenance teams to ensure efficient execution of electrical installations and the overall success of gaming room renovations.

Qualifications

Education / Experience :

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent technical training.

At least 2-3 years of experience in electrical installation, with a focus on outlet installations, data cabling, and renovations.

Licensing / Certifications :

Valid Illinois Journeyman Electrician license required.

Certification in electrical safety practices (NFPA 70E, etc.) preferred.

Experience in working with data drops, wiring for gaming systems, or familiarity with gaming equipment is a plus.

Skills / Abilities :

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power, data cabling, and lighting circuits.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for electrical installations.

Familiarity with cabling and wiring standards for gaming devices and related equipment.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues quickly and effectively.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to work in various environments, including areas with limited space, elevated work areas, and ongoing construction zones.

Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform tasks in confined spaces for extended periods.
