ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overview: Performs operations to include, but not limited to - Receives and unloads material from carriers and Lucky Star Marketing trucks, identifies and verifies material received, sorting, prepares and attaches UPC tags/labels, performs material put away, conducts cycle counts, performs physical inventories, picks orders, processes orders, prepares shipping manifest/packing slips, verifies quantities against manifests and order documentation, completes quality inspections of produce both inbound and outbound and annotates quality control documents as required, updates data using the Famous system, audits order accuracy, put away completed pick orders for shipment into carrier/Lucky Star Marketing Truck staging lanes, loads carriers/Lucky Star Marketing Trucks, operates warehouse material movement equipment, scans material movements, and maintains warehouse cleanliness and sanitation..
  • Inventory Control:

1) Conduct cycle counts and full physical inventories of stock.

2) Ensure accurate recording of inventory movements.

3) Maintains inventory and racking systems in accordance with Warehouse SOP guidelines.

4) Properly identifies produce tags and rack tags for accurate inventory storage and picking operations.

5) Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software or manual logs.

6) Assist with the identification and disposal of obsolete or excess inventory, keeping supervision informed.

7) Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to optimize inventory storage and layout.

8) Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and inventory accuracy.

9) Ensure compliance with inventory control policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

10) Assist with other inventory-related tasks and projects as needed.

11) Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts or records.

12) Assist the Superintendent/Foreman monitoring inventory levels and reorder products as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.

  • Shipping and Receiving:

1) Prepares orders for shipment – builds boxes, injects ice, sort and palletizes orders, labels boxes, verifies documentation.

2) Responsible for insuring timely and accurate shipping, and accurate receiving

3) Ensures materials are properly and accurately counted/reported, put away, stored and tagged into a proper assigned rack location using the WMS system.

4) Completes receiving documents and packing lists/purchase orders, enters data into Famous WMS System

5) Loads and unloads carrier containers as assigned.

6) Inspects inbound and outbound freight containers and freight for damage, notifies the Warehouse Superintendent of nonconformance.

7) Coordinate High Priority shipping and receiving activities.

8) Receive incoming shipments, verify their contents against purchase orders or shipping manifests, and process them for storage or distribution.

9) Inspect incoming shipments for damages, discrepancies, or shortages and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.

10) Prepare receiving reports and documentation for incoming shipments, ensuring accurate recording of quantities, serial numbers, and other relevant information.

11) Assist with unloading trucks and containers using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other equipment as needed.

12) Label, sort, and organize received materials or products in designated storage areas within the warehouse.

13) Process outgoing shipments by selecting items from inventory, packing them securely for transport, and preparing shipping labels and documentation.

14) Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in the shipping and receiving area, including proper storage of pallets, packaging materials, and equipment.

  • Material Handling:

1) Handles all produce inventory properly to minimize damage and preserve quality.

2) Performs put away tasks on broken pallets after order processing.

3) Monitor daily schedule and shipping schedule to ensure orders are staged, counted and accurate and BOL documentation is prepared.

4) Transport materials and products to designated storage areas within the warehouse facility.

  • Performs other duties and tasks as necessary and as directed by the Warehouse Manager

SCOPE DATA

  • The Warehouse Associate reports to the Warehouse Manager and is critical to the successful operations of Lucky Star Marketing, performing all related tasks with a high level of accuracy, quality, and integrity to ensure correct receipt, inventory, quality inspections, safe storage, processing, and shipping of all Lucky Star Marketing fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Closely adheres to all policies and established procedures and conducts operations safely to minimize and eliminate personal injury, property damage, equipment damage, and product damage.
  • This is a non-supervisory role with no administration or supervisory responsibilities.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP

  • The Warehouse Associate reports directly to the Warehouse Manager through a Foreman and a Warehouse Superintendent and should be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Work directly with all levels of the warehouse organization to include peers and supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Leads by example – demonstrates exceptional team player skills.

  • Diligent worker who is a self-starter and proactive – works well with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals), and the ability to read, interpret, and understand pick lists, order sheets, and other documents.
  • Excellent organizational, technical, and time management skills.
  • Forklift Certification preferred.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 55 Lbs.
  • Ability to walk, climb, stoop, sit and stand for an assigned shift.
  • Frequently requires visual acuity, speech, vision, and hearing
  • Ability to prioritize workload, multitask and expedite as required.
  • Ability to deal effectively with different personalities.
  • Ability to deal with exposure to temperature extremes (cold room work), humidity, heat, and exposure to various kinds of dust, pollen, fumes, gasses, and insects.
  • Ability to use arms and fingers repetitively and perform fine manipulations.
  • Ability to use a variety of powered and hand tools.
  • Basic Computer Systems and applications knowledge, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and use Bar Code/RFID systems is a plus.
  • Fluently speak, read and write in Spanish, bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in order picking, warehouse operations, or a similar role preferred.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D is required
