Lufkin Industries is looking for an Operations Manager in Dickinson, ND. The Operations Manager will report to the Region Service and Operations Director and has responsibility for the day-to-day shop, yard, and warehouse operations. This involves the tactical execution of the strategy as it pertains to operations assigned along with development and implementation of relevant processes, policies and procedures required to support sales and service operations ensuring the successful delivery of rod lift surface equipment and services to our clients. The Operations Manager will focus on continuous improvement with the objective of improving HSE performance, expanding margins, improving customer service levels through creating efficiency and enhancing effectiveness. Working with all functional departments this position will identify and execute opportunities for improvement, including but not limited to process automation, streamlining of processes and / or workflows, creating visibility through dashboards and managing performance through relevant KPI’s.
A primary function of the role is the continued development of assigned teams and employees. Working closely with the training and development team and HR to continue to build out a training / competency program.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Effectively lead an operations team of ~30 employees consisting of multiple layers of direct and indirect employees
- Demonstrated visible HS&E leadership leading to increased employee ownership of HS&E performance
- Ensures client satisfaction and retention through excellent service delivery
- Manage shop and yard operations with production planning to ensure alignment with Field Service activities to increase revenue growth and utilization of team
- Oversees organizational adherence with Lufkin Industries process / process adoption, transactional discipline, policies, and best practices
- Leads by example fostering a positive work environment in which employees professionally develop, grow, and retain.
- Responsible for the ongoing professional development / evaluation of direct reports, accountability, and succession planning
- Able to inspire and rally a team to quickly resolve challenges. Builds leadership bench strength through individual self -accountability, training, and coaching
- Develops a culture of lean and continuous improvement. Identifies opportunities for improvement, determines the root-cause of problem areas, analyzes data, and solutions
- Performs other tasks as assigned
