Job Summary

As a Sr. Technical Designer at Lulus, you will work closely with our production team ensuring the fit and quality of the Lulus brand. In this role, you will facilitate the transition of the product from the initial design and trend concept to a fit-approved garment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver quality in design, fit, and function. In addition, you will leverage and develop key vendor relationships to support working efficiently and driving fit consistency to improve the customer experience.

What You’ll Do

• Lead fit sessions and effectively communicate fit intent to all relevant parties 

• Rigorously maintain existing fit standards, ensuring overall fit consistency

• Leverage customer feedback and technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may occur during pre/postproduction 

• Identify potential fit, construction, cost, and quality concerns and make recommendations to ensure brand integrity

• Mindfully deliver high-quality product in fit and functionality, that enables Lulus to achieve customer satisfaction while addressing financial goals

• Collaborate with the manager on size and grading changes that could impact Lulus fit 

• Manage and review pre and postproduction samples to ensure fit intent has been executed

• Supervise junior-level technical resources, enabling them to achieve professional goals

• Partner with cross-functional teams, at varying levels, during fit sessions to ensure alignment across teams is met 

• Collaborate with the manager on upcoming strategies and any significant business decisions within the technical design department

What You’ll Need

• 8 years of experience in the technical design field with a thorough understanding of the apparel design and development process from inception through production

• Degree in Apparel Manufacturing, Product Development, Apparel Design, or equivalent work experience

• Experience leading and supporting the work of others to align with overall technical fit strategy

• Strong knowledge of the garment production process, from pattern making to fitting experience and overall improving the quality of a garment while maintaining cost efficiencies

• Knowledge of fabrics

• Ability to lead live fittings and evaluate overall fit with understanding to make necessary fit/pattern corrections to achieve the desired fit

• Ability to effectively communicate with vendors regularly (written and verbal)

• Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability

• Team-oriented; ability to excel in a team-based structure

• Approach deadlines with a sense of urgency

• Exceptional follow-up skills and ability to analyze workload and plan accordingly

• Must be able to stand for extended periods

• Proficient in Excel, Google Suite, and Illustrator

Our job postings include an annual base salary range for the role. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include an annual bonus and other benefit programs.
