The EWP Administrator is responsible for the organized and efficient flow of work and documentation within the department. Requests For Quotation (RFQs) are received from Outside Salespersons, Contractor Service Desks, and customers, and must be tracked through various stages of completion and coordination until that work is ready to be returned to the originating party.
The ideal candidate understands the importance of this position within the Estimating & EWP Design Department framework, and the greater role of the department in supporting our Outside Salespersons. When properly executed, the Administrator position helps information and documentation flow easily to the people who need it.
Duties Include :
Checking the RFQ and accompanying documentation for completeness, scanning / filing the accompanying documentation, and logging the RFQ into the Task List
Requesting missing information or clarification of RFQs
Creating sub-requests for specific outsourced components such as floor / roof truss pricing, wall panels, EWP framing design, or other services / materials, and sending, tracking, and receiving these RFQs
Maintaining and updating the status of all in-house and outsourced work in the Departments work queue
Coordinating with and assisting the Estimating Supervisor and EWP Design Supervisor
Coordinating with and assisting the Estimators and EWP Designers
Evaluating performance metrics such as turn-around time, quantity / quality of requests from individuals or areas, quantity of requests in specific areas, etc.
Identifying areas for improvement or re-tasking, such as bottlenecks, vendor performance, etc.
Assisting with achieving other department goals and special projects
Requirements
This position requires experience with Microsoft Windows and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with CSD’s iStruct software, or knowledge of beam and joist sizing software in general is helpful.
Use of Epicor’s BisTrack software is a plus. Knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and residential wood-frame construction materials and methods is strongly preferred. The ability to multi-task is essential, as is the ability to assess one’s own workload and reprioritize activities to anticipate and react to our customers and to coworkers’ requests.
