About Us : Lumencor, Inc., based in Beaverton, Oregon, manufactures high-performance solid state lighting subsystems, "light engines," for bioanalytical instruments, medical devices, life science research tools and industrial applications like wafer defect inspection devices, quality control, and metrology. Products are sold worldwide to equipment manufacturers (OEMs), distributors, laboratories, individual researchers and industrial leaders.The company is seeking Manufacturing Assemblers to contribute to the production of Lumencor light engines and accessories.The Lead Test Technician will coordinate resources and activities responsible for test, calibration, and assembly of a variety of sub-assemblies, as well as finished assemblies, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, and optical assemblies. This role will collaborate with management and resource allocation, and will show leadership within the assembly and technician groups to promote efficient and accurate manufacturing and test routines. The qualified candidate will perform tasks identified by management related to advanced troubleshooting and testing as well as being able to demonstrate and train fellow technical team members on best practices for troubleshooting and testing Lumencor products.Responsibilities :
- Assist with resources (personnel, equipment, training, technical activities) to optimize product performance and throughput
- Provide guidance and training to fellow team members on assembly and test processes
- Perform optics assembly with UV cure and other adhesives
- Accurate record keeping associated with product assembly and test
- Maintain organized workstation in compliance with Lumencor standards
- Perform in-process test, rework, and quality measurements
- Recognize potential product assembly errors and initiate appropriate quality procedures
- Troubleshoot, repair, and document assemblies with mechanical, optical, and electrical problems
- Analyze product performance data to determine repair activity
- Operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures
- Operate assembly or processing equipment, such as lasers, cameras, dispensers, soldering irons, wire pull testers, function generators, or optical spectrum analyzers
- Interface well with Engineering Manager, Engineering staff, Manufacturing staff and other Lumencor employees to accomplish cross-departmental goals
- Work required hours and adhere to Lumencor attendance policy
- Proactively seek opportunities to implement improvements for manufacturability of Lumencor products
- Adhere to clean room, safety, and ESD policies and procedures
- Maintain an awareness of cross-departmental goals and actively participate in implementing solutions
- Participate in creating high level manufacturing processes required to produce quality products with efficient methods
- Perform soldering, reworking, wire crimping, and chassis wiring on Lumencor products
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers in the implementation of fixtures, tools, or processesRequirements :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- IPC Certification preferred
- 5 years of relevant industrial experience
- IPC Certification, expereience assembline product containing optics and lasers
- A detail-oriented work ethic
- A desire and ability to problem solve and work independently within a small organization
- An ability to multi-task for maximum efficiency without sacrificing accuracy
