Position Overview : We are seeking a Senior Payroll and HR Specialist. The ideal candidate will have previous multi-state payroll experience working in the mortgage industry. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bi-weekly and commission payroll processing for our organization, including data entry, calculations, tax reporting and resolving complex payroll issues.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage the payroll process for a large workforce (550 employees in 36 states), ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, commissions, bonuses, benefits, and deductions in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Bring your superb attention to detail and love for accuracy as you manage the full bi-weekly payroll processing including processing new hires, terminations, garnishments, staff member referrals, importing deductions, processing workflow changes, etc.
Provide excellent customer service in serving as the primary contact for staff member payroll questions.
Compensation and Benefits : Assist in managing compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
Compliance : Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Process off cycle checks as needed.
Run reports from BambooHR as needed.
Process year end payroll adjustments.
Talent Acquisition : Support the recruitment process to attract and retain talent within the mortgage industry.
Employee Relations : Foster a positive work environment through effective employee relations programs and conflict resolution.
Performance Management : Assist in implementing performance management systems to ensure employees meet their goals and contribute to the companys success.
Training and Development : Support the design and delivery of training programs to enhance employee skills and career development.
HR Metrics : Utilize HR metrics to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
Diversity and Inclusion : Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications and Experience :
3 years of HR experience required, preferably within the mortgage industry.
3 years managing payroll
Certifications :
Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is desirable.
Skills :
Comprehensive knowledge of payroll calculations, tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
Effective communication with employees, management, and other departments regarding payroll matters.
Ability to accurately handle large volumes of data and identify discrepancies.
Ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and find solutions to complex problems.
Ability to support HR strategies that align with business goals.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
