Job Summary
A Mammography Technologist performs screening and diagnostic mammographic procedures in accordance with established safety and quality standards, while providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Job Duties
- Acquires high-quality mammographic images while verifying demographic and technical information.
- Completes procedures within an established time frame while maintaining the highest level of quality work.
- Constantly assesses patients' condition during biopsy procedures and administers first aid as required.
- Provides radiation protection to all patients in compliance with prescribed safety standards.
- Performs necessary quality assurance testing on equipment and maintains appropriate records.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a two-year radiological technology program from an AMA-approved educational institution.
- Mammography registry required (ARRT or ARDMS).
- Current license in the State of Maryland and American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
