Job Description

Luminize is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a heavy background in tracking inventory in a

fast-paced environment to join our team and drive excellence in our financial operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining our CoGS, tracking fast-moving inventory, financial health, and ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting principles. As an accounting manager, you will take on advanced inventory, AR, and AP accounting responsibilities and play a key role in process improvements and cross-functional initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to navigate and create new processes from scratch.

Responsibilities Include :

Advanced Financial Management :

Inventory Accounting : Manages and supports accurate inventory tracking for financial purposes, perform inventory reconciliation in the warehouse, inbound and outbound, and with Amazon files, handle discrepancies with vendors, ensure accurate CoGS.
Bill.com Operations : Actively manages bill.com platform, utilizing its features to streamline the accounts payable process.
Accounts Payable & Receivable : Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely and accurate payment of bills, invoices, and adherence to payment terms. Includes tying deposits and payments to appropriate AP / AR invoices.
General Ledger Oversight : Maintain, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with GAAP.
Month-End & Year-End Close : Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
Financial Reporting : Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing actionable insights and supporting leadership with strategic financial decision-making.
Budgeting & Forecasting : Assist in developing budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances, and providing recommendations for corrective actions.

Process Improvement & Leadership :

System Optimization : Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in accounting processes, leading implementation efforts for new tools and systems.

Policy Development : Collaborate on the creation and refinement of accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

Work closely with other departments, including operations, sales, and executive leadership, to support financial strategies and organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

5 years of progressive experience in accounting

Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Excel / Google Sheets; familiarity with e-commerce tools is a plus.

Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Proven ability to lead process improvements and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
