Job Title: Hospice Scheduler
Schedule: M-F 8-5

Job overview:
Scheduling Coordination:
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly schedules for hospice staff, including nurses, social workers, and volunteers.
- Coordinate shifts and on-call assignments to ensure coverage based on patient needs.
Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for hospice staff regarding scheduling inquiries and updates.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers about scheduled visits and any changes.
Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the scheduling database.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines related to scheduling and patient care.
Problem-Solving:
- Address scheduling conflicts proactively and implement solutions to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
- Respond to urgent scheduling requests and adjust schedules as necessary.
Reporting:
- Prepare and present scheduling reports to management, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in tracking staff attendance and performance related to scheduling.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in hospice or home health care.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor towards patients and families.
