Requirements

We're looking to hire a Full-time Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant role is a great opportunity to support a growing comprehensive pain management practice committed to quality of care over quantity of encounters. This position will perform routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned areas or providers.

The medical assistant provides patient care under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider. Performs the necessary intake functions for arriving patients, assists in questions, directs telephone calls, follows up on voicemails and other patient service duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintains safe, secure and clean clinic environment by following established standards and procedures and adhering to legal regulations.

- Responsible for escorting patients to exam rooms, interviewing patients, recording vital signs to include temperature, blood pressure, height & weight, heart rate and saturated oxygen intake, documenting chief complaints, current medications, communicate changes in medical conditions and any additional pertinent information into patients' charts.

- Protects patients and staff by adhering to standardized infection control protocols.

- Charged with uploading initial health history, and when necessary - imaging, referrals, PDMP, lab orders and other appropriate documents into patient charts in a timely manner

- Maintains equipment and medical supplies to include stocking, ordering and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by safeguarding and keeping patient information confidential.

- Responds to phone calls and voicemails, providing appropriate triage to patients, verifying refills or other patient needs while communicating effectively with providers.

- Provides patient education and counseling, as directed by healthcare provider.

- Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant (preferred but not initially required)

- Basic proficiency in electronic medical records and medical terminology

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain rapport with patients and interact with organizational members

- Attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multitask, prioritize and work efficiently both independently and in a team atmosphere.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required

- Completion of formal training program as a medical assistant (preferred)

- 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred)

- 1 year experience of Electronic Medical Record experience (preferred)

- RMA or CMA certification (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $24.00 per hour
