Description
A Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of goods, services, and information within an organization's supply chain. They play a key role in organizing and coordinating logistics operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of products, and managing relationships with suppliers, customers, and transportation providers. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient operations and smooth delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation Management :
- Coordinate and schedule shipments, deliveries, and transportation of goods.
- Work with external carriers and freight forwarders to arrange cost-effective and timely transportation.
- Monitor the status of shipments and resolve any issues or delays.
Inventory and Warehouse Management :
Oversee inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock for timely order fulfillment.Coordinate with third party warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage, handling, and dispatch of goods.Ensure proper documentation of goods received and shipped.Order Fulfillment and Processing :
Process and track customer orders from initiation to final delivery.Ensure orders are packed, labeled, and shipped in compliance with company standards and customer requirements.Communicate with sales, procurement, and customer service teams to manage order expectations.Supplier and Vendor Coordination :
Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and raw materials.Negotiate shipping terms and conditions, ensuring cost-effective logistics solutions.Address any issues related to suppliers, deliveries, or damaged goods.Logistics Documentation :
Maintain accurate records of shipments, transportation costs, and delivery schedules.Prepare and manage logistics reports, including tracking numbers, shipping costs, and delivery timelines.Ensure compliance with all import / export regulations and company policies.Problem Resolution :
Investigate and resolve any issues related to shipment delays, damaged goods, or inventory discrepancies.Work with other departments to find and implement solutions to logistics-related problems.Cost Management and Optimization :
Monitor transportation costs and look for opportunities to reduce expenses while maintaining service quality.Analyze and recommend improvements in logistics processes and procedures to increase efficiency.Customer Service Support :
Communicate with order fullfilment and manufacturing plants to update them on order status, delivery times, and any delays.Ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
At least 2-3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.
Skills :
Strong organizational and time-management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in logistics software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to analyze data and create reports.Knowledge of shipping regulations, procedures, and best practices.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with international shipping and customs regulations.Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CLTD, CSCP).Experience working with freight forwarding or third-party logistics providers.The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable, demonstrating a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities as the scope of the role evolves in response to changing business needs and priorities.Alert
