We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, as well as specialty paninis, salads, and more. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, processing orders, creating food and beverage items for sale, and more.

To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how our various different pieces of equipment operate. You should be able to work a variety of shifts that include walking back and forth, and good time management skills are necessary. Baristas are on their feet for multiple hours out of the day, and expected to have a positive, inviting demeanor for guests, as well as provide quick and satisfactory service.

Our schedule may require you to be able to work weekends, holidays, and as early as 6:30 AM some days, however we are flexible and can work with your needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter
• Answer customer questions regarding our drink and food menus
• Take orders while keeping close attention to details
• Prepare beverages following recipes and maintain an in-depth knowledge of our menu and every item we serve
• Serve beverages and prepared food, such as paninis, salads, and pastries
• Receive and process payments through our PoS (Point of Sale) system
• Keep preparation areas clean and tidy
• Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates, and restock disposables as we begin to run low
• Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Skills

• Those with previous work experience as a barista are heavily encouraged to apply
• Flexibility to work various shifts depending on availability
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn food safety and sanitization regulations to maintain a clean and safe environment for employees and customers alike

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.50 - $12.00 per hour
