POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Technician will examine materials for flaws and deviations from original product specifications. This role will inspect, accept, or reject products for durability, function, customer satisfaction, and overall quality. The Quality Technician will perform various quality control related inspection and verification activities on raw material, in-process products, and final products to ensure the product meets required safety and quality standards as required in stay in compliance with ISO / IATF standards. This position will work with and communicate to all various functions including but not limited to distribution, engineering, purchasing, production, quality, and suppliers as required.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Issue In-Process Check Sheet to areas producing OEM and Aftermarket programs.
Complete 2-hour monitoring of process, visual inspection and measurement data collection for critical characteristics, document results into statistical software and maintain runs charting.
Report trends, shifts, and jumps in process to Quality Assurance Management.
Inspect and test raw materials and in-process products, and final products.
Monitor testing procedures, interpret results, capture data into program software, report out on inspection results,
Administer data and Document Control responsibilities in compliance with ISO / IATF standards.
Perform process layered, product and / or dispatch audits – document and report results.
Perform MSA studies, recall and calibration on instruments used to ensure product quality per MSA, recall, and calibration schedule.
Participate in creation of PPAP packages – specifically dimensional layouts, IMDS inputs, quarantine management and in-coming inspection (if applicable).
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
3-5 years in a quality or manufacturing related position is preferred.
2 years of ISO and / or IATF experience preferred.
Required Licenses
Valid driver’s license preferred.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Skilled in auditing and computer skills.
Skilled in general PC operation / navigation and application-specific experience including SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 applications (MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint). Minitab or other Statistical Software and AIAG documents.
Ability to understand the importance of standards.
Ability to distinguish between normal and abnormal conditions and react / report accordingly.
Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret measurement data points – Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Ability to effectively recognize a trend, shift and / or jump in data points and react / report accordingly.
Knowledge of ISO and / or IATF auditing experience preferred.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual Contributor : working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to Medium Work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

This position is subject to the following physical activities : kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing.
Visual Acuity
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and / or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and / or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
