The Lunenburg County Sheriffs Office has an opening for the position of Deputy Sheriff. Virginia DCJS Certified Police Officers or Certified Jail Officers preferred. All candidates must be a United States Citizen, be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, be willing to live within 10 air miles from the county line, be in good physical and mental health, have an excellent driving record and possess a valid license at the time of hire, not have engaged in any activity that would support a domestic violence or felony conviction, and be of good moral character and behavior. Salary: $50,000 a year for new officers.
Salary for a certified officer will be based on experience.

Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas to ensure public safety and enforce laws.
- Respond to emergency calls and incidents, managing conflicts effectively.
- Conduct criminal investigations and gather evidence as needed.

- Provide first aid and CPR assistance when required.
- Monitor and utilize surveillance equipment to deter crime.
- Collaborate with local agencies and community members to enhance safety initiatives.
