What you will do
- A Family Law Paralegal mentors legal assistants with feedback and coaching
- Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses
- Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer
- Coordinate law office activity, including the drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
- Have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an AS degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, BS in paralegal is preferred
- Must have 3 years of paralegal experience with Georgia family law
- Probate experience is a plus
- Experience using MyCase, Clio Manage, Adobe, Peach Court, MS Suite is required.
- Enjoy working for and with people of diverse, ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds
- Exceptional communication skill, both written and verbal are needed to work with all levels of staff and clients
