Interim Elementary Assistant Principal

The Ayer Shirley Regional School District is seeking an Assistant Principal with outstanding leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to assist the elementary school principal in promoting and advancing the educational development of each student. This position is effective March 31, 2025, through the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Primary Responsibilities of the Assistant Principal Include:

• Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school; interprets and enforces school policies and regulations
• Serves as the head administrator in the school in the absence of the Principal
• Coordinates and supervises the implementation of curricular, instructional, and administrative programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and the provisions of the district's collective bargaining agreements
• Assumes responsibility for planning, coordinating, and supervising state and school testing programs
• Assists with responsibility of teacher evaluations
• Organizes and manages student data, MCAS analysis, student placement/scheduling, and additional plans within the school
• Cooperates in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities
• Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance, and works with the main office and other as-needed parties, for further actionable steps
• Assumes responsibility for maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary
• Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups in creating, overseeing, and implementing plans within the school and district
• Serves as a member of committees
• Attends special events, school functions, and other activities
• Work cooperatively with the Central Office in the best interests of the Page Hilltop School and the Ayer Shirley Regional School District
• Carry out all other responsibilities and duties assigned by the Principal
