We are actively searching for a Director of Campus Ministry to serve at this location and help grow this community.

Part-Time Salaried ~20 hours a week average with flexibility around student scheduling

About Black Hills State University:

Black Hills State University serves approximately 3,500 students and is a four-year institution located in Spearfish, SD. BHSU serves primarily the Black Hills region, with students from across the Dakotas, Montana, Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Many of the BHSU students are daily commuters, with many also coming from blue-collar or ranch backgrounds. BHSU is well known for their teaching college, as well as serves as an opportunity for students to start/complete their undergrad and use it as a launching point for secondary degrees. Many work multiple jobs to help pay for their schooling. There is also a small population of non-traditional students as well on campus.

Responsibilities:

Can include but are not limited to:

-Growing students knowledge of the Christian faith according to Lutheran theology

-Connecting to students via social media/advertising/gathering

-Program and Financial Development of Campus Ministry

-Ability to work independently/driven with support of the Campus Ministry Board

-Good communication skills

-Communicate to the Campus Ministry Board, congregations, etc.

-Comfortable with public speaking

-BHSU and community connections/relationships

-Simple budgeting/money management

-Currently utilizing Quikbooks with assistance of Campus Ministry Board Treasurer

-Organizing, planning and seeking volunteers for various events (meals, service, etc.)

Commitments will include weekends/evenings

Qualifications:

Can include but are not limited to:

-Experience in campus ministry or related young adult focused setting

-Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred but not required)

-Fun, outgoing, personable, and encouraging to both students & faculty

-Knowledge of Christian Lutheran theology

-Fluent and resourceful with social media/advertising/gathering of students

-Basic accounting/budgeting skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week
